Welcome

In 2006, I sat down to write the kind of novel I have always enjoyed reading. It would have an irresistible plot, interesting characters, great locations, engaging themes, memorable episodes and a style that openly luxuriated in the possibilities of language.

That first book was The Incendiary’s Trail, and writing it excited me so much that I delivered the next in the series (The Vice Society) to Macmillan even before the first had come out. The third book, The Thieves’ Labyrinth, is due out in 2011 and I’m greatly enthused about producing the fourth.

I hope that you enjoy the information on this site and that the books bring you as much pleasure as I’ve had in writing them. I have always been a compulsive reader, and I approach my books with the aim of passing on that thrill.
